| WHAT THEY DO: The Taking Back the Streets Movement is a combined effort of teen services organizations. These organizations have come together under an umbrella theory to work together to serve as positive role models in the community and take back our streets by taking it to the streets. WHAT WE DO FOR THEM: Once a month we go into a low income housing area and speak to the youth and parents in the community. We escort other nonprofit organizations into the neighborhoods in order for them to be able to provide their services as well. Many of the youth and parents in these housing areas do not have the transportaton to take advantage of the services that are provided by other nonprofit organizations, so we take the organizations to them. |
